Every ingredient in Jordan’s original shot has a unique nutritional profile and wellness benefit. Ginger, of course, is the star. But the rest of the ingredients also have added health perks including antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

Here’s a breakdown of each ingredient:

  • Ginger - It’s best-known for its anti-inflammatory properties and flavorful taste. It can help fight germs, reduce nausea, and even minimize muscle pain post-workout!
  • Lemon - This fruit is a great source of vitamin C, a must for a strong immune system.
  • Oregano oil - It contains large amounts of the antioxidant carvacrol. Oregano oil may also reduce inflammation in the body.
  • Aged garlic extract - Garlic is highly nutritious. A single clove has fiber, selenium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and manganese.
  • Agave or honey - Both are sweeter than white table sugar, so you don’t need to use a lot. Honey, in particular, may help with seasonal allergies and is full of antioxidants.
  • Cayenne pepper- These peppers have capsaicin, which adds the pepper’s heat and may also be responsible for reducing pain.

What Are Ginger Shots Good For?

Ginger shots are indeed good for your health.

Any time you combine and ingest fresh-from-the-earth ingredients together, you can’t go wrong. Since ancient times, ginger root has been a go-to ingredient for medicinal and cooking uses.

A 2011 study in Herbal Medicine: Biomolecular and Clinical Aspects found the ginger root to be helpful for a variety of health ailments. While the studies are small, a Medical News Today report also uncovered a variety of studies that indicated ginger can reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and minimize cold and flu symptoms.

A study published in Nursing and Midwifery Studies indicated it can be helpful in reducing nausea for pregnant women who are fewer than 16 weeks into their pregnancy.

Additionally, when you pair eating well with daily ginger shots, it boosts your immunity overall.

If you’re interested in starting a daily ginger shot routine, you have two options: store-bought shots or homemade shots. Below, we breakdown the benefits of both.

REASONS TO LOVE PRE-MADE SHOTS

You can pick up store-bought shots at most any health food store. You can also purchase them online and have them shipped straight to your doorstep!

When you buy KOR Shots, you can feel rest assured that we have access to and always select high-quality organic produce year-round. While you may be able to buy organic ginger root in your local store, you may not always be able to find ginger root at your grocer in every season.

Here are just a few of the reasons to pick one up on your next grocery run or order online:

  • Quality - Store-bought shots are often made with organic produce.

  • Naturally refreshing - It’s a quick pick-me-up that’s full of anti-inflammatory properties. With its potent taste, it’s naturally rejuvenating, too.

  • Convenience - No need to cut and blend your own produce for a ginger shot. It’s done for you!

  • No special equipment - You don’t need to go and buy your own juicer or expensive blender.

  • Keeps longer - Most pre-made shots last longer than homemade shots. Ours ship with a minimum of 30 days of shelf life when you order online. Our shots have a fresh taste thanks to HPP (high-pressure processing).

REASONS TO LOVE HOMEMADE SHOTS

Once you have nailed down the original shot recipe above, it’s easy to make these in bulk and store them for up to a week. It’s better than starting your morning with a big glass of orange juice, which usually has a ton of added sugar. You can control your ingredients — and sugar intake — with your own DIY recipe.

A few more reasons to love making your own shots:

  • Delicious - There’s nothing like fresh-squeezed juice you make yourself!

  • Easy to make - Making shots isn’t complicated. Anyone can do it.

  • Stores easily - You can store these away in easy grab-and-go containers.

  • Control ingredients - You have endless combo options when you learn how to make ginger shots at home.
