A different kind of serial killer story. More to do with the fascination of killings, rather than a story about killings.
One one hand, you have your actual serial killers, and then there's those who are absolutely fascinated with them.
In this case, it's a curious fascination that turns into obsession - a very unhealthy obsession.I know of people who are very into their serial killer crime history, as well as fictional stories in both the book and TV format. All of these people happen to be women for some reason. Two of whom are colleagues and love their true crime stuff - with emphasis on serial killers - and a couple of months ago we were at my…

Gęsta atmosfera i dobre kreacje. Zawodzi swoją niejasnością. Natomiast jest to dobry polski kryminał.

Review by Christian Fecht ★★★★

Was bleibt: die schöne Kamera. -
Review by tomalla ★★

Review by Devan Scott ★★★½
Shot almost exclusively in orange and green tones, the first half of this film follows an inscrutable yet clearly unbalanced young man as he wanders around a major Polish city mulling murder. In the second half, he's killed at the hands of the state. So, it's A Short Film About Killing. The two works do diverge in significant ways when it comes to certain specifics (Koszałka is clearly less interested in making a morality play and more interested with the idea of criminals-as-celebrities, an issue not at all on Kieslowski's radar), but they circle back to common themes of the unknowability of the human mind and the inherent hypocrisy in state-sponsored murder.
Taken as a variation on this theme, the…

For it's own good, this film would have been better as a short. To constantly show off how artistic your camerawork is, but mixed with the sloppy dialogue, it's just difunctional to me. Overall I would say this film was a bore and IN NO WAY is it a horror film. I don't know why it was advertised as that, but my expectations where not met. I might have to see it again, but this is all I will say for right now (until more people review the project).

Beautifully shot, I can't stress that enough, and makes some really interesting editing choices. However, the first act is a bit sloppy and it's difficult to understand the protagonist's motivations, which took me out of it. Too bad. My main takeaway was, "I should probably watch A Short Film About Killing."
