Welcome to IGN's Subnautica: Below Zero guide. This portion of the wiki will teach you how to craft equipment. Equipment and tools are often necessary for story progression, but some simply make game play and survival easier.
Crafting Tools
Most tools are crafted using the Fabricator in your Drop Pod, such as the Survival Knife, First Aid Kits, High Capacity O2 tank and others.

Some of these tools are obtained by scanning fragments in order to synthesize their blueprints. Fragments are located around the seafloor in various Subnautica Biomes and in labs, such when you are Finding Phi Robotics Lab or Finding Outpost Zero.
You can always pin a recipe to your PDA so that you can see which ingredients you have and which you don't, allowing for faster progress.
Crafting Vehicles and Upgrade Modules
Most vehicles are crafted using the Mobile Vehicle Bay, such as the Prawn Suit and Seatruck. You must build the vehicle bay then collect the ingredients needed for each vehicle.
If you haven't built a Mobile Vehicle Bay before, the recipe recipe requires one Titanium Ingot, Lubricant and a Computer Chip.
Computer Chips require gold, which is most easily found in Calverite Outcrops in the same aquatic cave system know as theArctic Kelp Cavesyou previously hunted for silver. You will need to go deep into these caves; it's easiest to use your Scanner to search for outcrops. Collect several Gold chunks.
Once you have deployed your Mobile Vehicle Bay (which will float on the surface above wherever you deploy it), you are ready to build your Seatruck and Prawn Suit. Most modifications and vehicle upgrades are crafted with the Modification Station.

The Modification Station is crated using the Habitat Builder. The builder also creates other habitat items like multipurpose rooms, hatches, windows and more. For more info on building a base, visit the How to Build a Base page. You may wish to beat the game in Survival Mode, then go wild building a huge home base in Creative Mode. You could also create multiple bases in various locations to make mining resources or finding the Void Chelicerate much easier.

Prawn Suit and Prawn Suit Upgrades
The Prawn Suit makes underwater exploration and evening mineral mining much easier, and the suit can access places the Seatruck cannot. Check this table for each recipe and upgrade to the Prawn Suit in Subnautica: Below Zero.
